More From the Republic of Texas
Here are some more photos from Washington-on-the-Brazos, the birthplace of Texas independence.
Buncha Buildings, Some River and a Bug
Just like the title says. . .
On the Bay
Galveston Bay is interesting because there's lots of recreation, folk earning a living for themselves and one of the largest commercial ports in the world all fit together in a nice little package. I've been hanging out there lately.
Lines, Lines, Everywhere There Are Lines. . .

Downtown and Points West
Houston is an odd mix of nature and concrete and glass (and lines). . .
San Jacento Monument, TX
The San Jacento Monument commemorates the battle led by Sam Houston that reversed the losses suffered at Goliad and the Alamo. Santa Ana's defeat and capture eventually led to Texas independence.

Still West of Del Rio
Here are a few more photos from my camping trip to the desert -- some of the themes, like abandoned and things fall apart are among my favorite. Things change, life goes on and eventually nature reclaims all.

For spring break I headed west to get far from the madding crowd -- here are some of the sights observed.

The Elissa was built in 1872 and recently refurbished.
The subject is my wife's violin which I love to look at almost as I love to hear.
