This Gallery contain various attempts at drawing with light. Using a normal digi camera that my bother hand held at 15second exposure (The flaw here is obvious) and me prancing about with a torch we got these pictures. And it's harder that it looks! The main problem is that you can't see what you have drawn already! Which means that the end image often looks very strange! But it is good fun and after a few more goes I'm sure I could iron out a few of the problems.

I really like it. The blur helps focus the attention on the light. The tree is really spooky, I like that. And the rest look like a lot of good fun.

  • You draw better with a torch than I can with a pencil! Very cool idea...

  • You picked a great backdrop, though when you are visible it ruins it a little bit. What fun!

  • Those are great! I really liked the one of the bike. Check out this link http://www.lacc.cc.ca.us/~auerbala/long.html It is some flashlight paintings by picasso. What is really cool about these is the photographer (i think Gjon Mili) strobed with rear sync after he made the drawing so you can see the artist.

  • ammendment: I guess there is only one image by Mili and Picasso, I am unsure about the other two.

Wow! Lots of comments! I like Yours 101! Did you use a flash at the end or beginning to light them up? A friend of mine has done some AMAZING ones. One day I hope to have a big session with some other artists so I can get some better pictures out of it. If you have more that one person with the torch, and differnet couloured torchs.... then the posibilities are endless!

Interesting photographs, I have played with light "paintings" myself and have enjoyed the results. Suggestive images like the butterfly and angel work best I think. Because the gun is a smaller object it looks more like a scribble. But the great large wings of the butterfly work very well with the "medium". Furthermore the first couple photographs which are darker are the best because they obscure the background the most. The latter photos which are lighter don't work quite as well. Nice work overall, it seems you had fun.
