I recently bought a house in Hoquiam, WA. It's a cute little house, but needs some work to make it my home. So, I've been spending two days out of the week down working on it. This was the first weekend that I stayed both days. I spent most of the time tearing down plywood walls in the upstairs. I found some interesting things hidden in the walls.

  • Is that wine in a Can? They must have had a Baldwin Piano at one time.

yep! it's wine in a can. i forgot to bring it home and I don't remember the year on the can. I can't find any mention of the company online, but I'm guessing that it was purchased in the 40's during the war.

  • I think that would be a wonderful wine with a bit of Wonder Bread and Velvetta. Year on the can, surprised it wasn't day!! Thanks Tyd. I love the stuff you find in old houses. All I found in my Old House was the previous owners' 50's Porn!

  • Given the fact that the can has a zip code on it, I'd say it was from the 60's or 70's, not the 40's, but interesting, nonetheless.

tgjohnmaz - I think late 60's is probably correct given the other things that I've found in this section of the house. The house was built in 1914. The oldest thing I've found was from 1943, but alas no gold bars.

  • Oh the wine can is priceless...the equivalent to a box maybe nowadays. It does look like a preteen was hiding their TigerBeat and a little hooch.
