    it takes practice I do have auto focus but prefer to focus manually I also capture a lot of images so at least 1 will be done well in this case a 4 hour walk resulted in 1370 images about 300 of flying birds including a bald eagle

    excellent shot--I hear ya about preferring manual focus. Seems it takes forever at times for the auto to find what YOU want in focus...I've gone almost completely manual focus lately.
