Saturday we went to a Different Kind of farm.  On the way we saw this Popup LinkHorse. It didn't liked it's pic taken for this shot. Popup LinkHorse 2  But was posing for this shot.   Popup LinkHorse 3 At the farm we saw this  Popup Linkcow.  Not so different for a farm.  But seeing this many  Popup LinkDeer is different.  A friend of the family raises  Popup LinkDeer 2.  He also raises wild Russian Hogs.  Like this little  Popup Linkone day old baby.  Here he is going to  Popup LinkMumma.  This is what they look like when they are Popup Linkbig.  I liked this pic of a  Popup LinkBoy on the farm.  I also took a pic of  Popup Linkthis.

I hope you enjoy the trip

chef, they don't technically "farm" them here like they do cattle for consumption. They raise Bucks to breed and sell to other breeder or ranches. And the better quality Bucks they get the more $ they make with breeders and such.

  • Thanks for the venture to the "farm", the one horse that didn't want picture taken remined me of a child with the tongue stuck out. Like the fallen feather!

Chef Lil' is right. This guy makes a lot of $ raising these deer and wild hogs. He told us that he makes twice as much money on the hogs. He used to have a huge deer years ago that someone offered him thousands upon thousands for and he would not sell him. These deer are by no means tame either. They are very wild. So wild that he said I got one of the best pics ever taken. They will either run from people or charge them. They are VERY mean! Some people think they are all Bambi like. They are so far from it. The man will be cutting the antlers off of them in the next week before they have the chance to shed them naturally. He will do this for their own protection. Because when they come in rut they will kill each other. It was a very informative trip. I found out stuff I didn't even know about. Especially about the hogs.
