These images are part of a self portrait assignment I'm handing in this week for my photo class at school.

Perhaps not safe for work.Popup LinkYou used to say that your just fine, I still wonder all the time... ~Since I don't have a scanner the text on this image is not legible, but in case you are wondering it is just an essay on self inflicted injury.

All of these images are film prints with no photoshopping effects on them other then a histogram adjustment.

I really like the second pic. IMO The last one was kind of hard to make out what it was.

those look awesome. the effect of the words on the last two is great.

I am not quite as depressed as the images make me seem, for starters, the self injury image isn't even about me, I'm in the background. I watched 2 different friends fight this demon and that's what the image reflects. Other then that I just miss home and I long to be back in Long Island. Thanks for the comments!

I like the last image but now that you explained it I know what I was having trouble seeing. It is the person on the right. I couldn't make it out. I do really like the words on the shot that is really cool.

Very, very good work. Did you lay the words on the enlarger through projector slides then enlarge your negative as normal? Hmmm....very creative...I'm still trying to figure this one out.

  • fauxtoes
Actually I just made transparencies at kinkos and then lid them over the photo paper when i exposed it under the enlarger.

Dirkbag- currently photography is not my major but every day I can't figure out why. I'm a pre nursing major that gets irked watching plastic surgery shows. I may change my major, but I'm hesitant because it would be my 3rd serious major since starting college and I may very well be in college forever.

Very talented! Don't worry....being away from home now is going to be worth it in the future. There is light at the end of the tunnel!

Very nice interpretations...think about your major...good pics...

I recognize the first pics line....was it inspired by the Ben Folds Five song Brick? Just curious.
