Hey..what the hay?

 It never fails, my wife and I will be traveling down some back road and I suddenly slam on the brakes, coffee goes ballistic and an ignored look that could kill follows me as I jump out of the truck and start snapping  pictures.  In this case it was the way the sun was bathing freshly rolled hay that had caught my eye. There's just something about traveling our back roads that will always provide an excellent and sometimes endless source of photo opportunities.

    Nice pix...The last picture was the best shot,and the only problem with the rolled hay is the cows never get a square meal.

    Good shots on the hay, I like the sunshine on them. And, won't those darn oaks ever start to get their fall coloring.....sure would have been a nice addition to this shot.

    Agree on the third being best, because the focus is on the hay. The first would be, IMO, the best if the focus had been on the hay and not on the oak leaves in the foreground.

    I had a thought that a little tighter cropping on Hay 3 along with a bit of highlighting might work out well. I loved the colors but the trees and the fence post were distracting to my eye. Here's my attempt in Picasa.

    That is usually referred to as "baled hay", and those are called round bales.

    I like the 3rd rolled bale shot ..thanks AH... FOR CORRECTING..and not commenting..and Tom you did a good job of working on the shot...The very last shot made me go check my eye balls...to see if I was bleeding form them...but what the hey ..their ok.

    I'm with the majority about the third one. Lovely light. The dream shot sort of baffles me--I have no idea what I'm supposed to look at, so I guess what I need is some focus.
