As I get older, I love Popup Linkthe fall more and more. This year especially, as Popup Linkmushroom hunting is a new favorite pasttime of ours. Popup Link13 pounds of chanterelles, our biggest haul to date, meant we had to forego Popup Linkhighly amusing gastric opportunities.

    last night for dinner, we had chanterelle au gratin and chanterelle and asparagus saute. today i made some spaghetti with tomato/chanterelle sauce. i really want to make something with just the yellow-foots (the small group on the right on that pic), they are a different species. I've never seen so many of those - and I've never seen so many regular ones in one place like the last patch we found. And come on all, no laughs for the last picture? noone? jeeeeez.

    one of my fondest memories is mushroom hunting over there...I didn't even look too hard, I was so overwhelmed by the forest's' beauty. Nice haul!
