Entering Bowling Green, Ohio, from the north on I-75, you'll pass a sign advertising the town as home of the National Tractor Pull. The name says it all: competitors from around the country come to this town of 29,000 to pull heavy trailers with, well, tractors... while others - over 10,000 - watch. The sound is deafening, the activity... weird. But, you should be required to see it at least once in your life:

I have been to one of these (in KY); the sound IS deafening! Especially in a dome! Nice shots!

  • These are good shots, but could not attend one of these because of the noise--same for a car race--don't like that type of noise.

We have one of these but a small version at our County Fair every year. They are very loud but not bad to sit through for an hour or so. Don't knock it till ya try it. Maybe there is a little "redneck " in me....LOL Food Alley shot was my favorite.

  • I'm betting all of those country folk at that event had one heck of a good time. Different strokes, I'm sure they would think I am silly for going out walking in the woods. The shots are great, and I especially like the shot of the guy in the wheelchair. He's just glad he could get out to see it.

Not sure if i'd like this event-too noisy. but my husband would love it--he's a wannabe redneck. LOL... all shots are great. I too like the food alley shot very much.

  • Cool shots--love the pix of the fans, particularly the wheelchair guy and the big guy with his back to us. You're brave to attend something out of your element--but it's for the photographic good, isn't it?

  • i was at those tractor pulls this year, i can tell its an awesome experience (i don't remember all of it thought :) ). we also had a good laugh at the bowling green state university students that came out and didn't have a clue, that was amusing. This is an event that everyone needs to experience even just one day of it.
