The Unraveling

(Heavily PS'd)

Tightly knit, I keep myself
So I don't fall apart
Full of flaws and imperfections
I simply can't face the Popup Linkworld.

Sometimes I get wound so tight
Like a balled up rubber band
I can feel my teeth cracking
In my Popup Linkmouth.

Then the unraveling begins and
I swirl around barely able
To see what happens in everyone
Else's grand Popup Linkuniverse.

The Popup Linkspinningcontinues until
I'm a puddle of mass
With no molecules left and
No desire to move.

Soon I begin winding up again
To start my Popup LinkHell anew.

  • I agree with most. I think taking a picture and manipulating it with Photoshop is a form of art, yet it starts with a photo... I have got comments from those at Arsgraphica for posting touched up photos. I guess the snobs there are real artists who think it has to be on canvas. Maybe we need a new forum for Photoshop pictures.

Well, slcrandy, I am the "snob" of which you speak.....the photo you have on arsgraphica is gorgeous; I said that in my comment. To me, it's not manipulated enough to be on the other site. I thought it belonged over here because it is such a beautiful portrait. Far be it from me to ever comment on you again.

  • I am sorry to call you a snob and maybe I jumped the gun (I have been known to do that and usually shoot myself in the foot.) It seems this sight was more for just photos and the other was for art... I love posting and getting feed back and even having someone take what I have started and add to it. I would like to see more postings to show what the image looked like before and just what was done to an image so we can appreciate the work involved and maybe learn something. I am posting the full version and you can decide.

  • Great... but... before you piss off Ms. N again... wait 24 hours before posting again... It's sorta the rule eh.... or at least I think it is... can I say that.... He He He... oops :-(

  • I, the evil master, have started a controversy (place evil master laugh here). I noted heavy ps'ing because I know some people are purists. I totally appreciate great photographers how have no need for ps, because they have mastered an art. I, personally, find ps a fun hobby...but I do lean more toward a purist side of photography...heck I still use my 35 mm and bracket (gasp).

There's no controversy about your post from me, jo; I was just upset about being called a "snob". I don't give a flying flip WHERE the pics are posted; I just know this site gets more traffic and thought the ones on the other site deserved to be here so they could be appreciated more. My bad; should've paid someone to think for me that day..... Apology accepted, s......

  • I'm jealous of your creativity to write like you do and love the way the pics bring out the emotion of the poem. These pics may be PS'd, but you can still tell they are photos. IMHO these are not much different than some of the ones I've seen posted here using infrared.

  • Great poem and the photos are awesome and really do fit the emotion of the poem. I am so jealous wish I was creative as that. And lets not care where it was posted, lets just be happy we got to enjoy and experience it. Once again great post Jo, I hope I can learn from you!!!

  • I'm telling you, you don't want Kay to get really madddddddd at you. Wish I could work with pictures and do just a fifth of what some of you can do.

  • I really like the poem and the pictures work quit well with it. I would say the poem is almost lyric like. Personally, I think this post can go on this site or Arsgraphica. It's appropriate for both. I also have to agree with what vintner67 had to say.
