Best Job for a Reasonable Price...

By Beholden written 11/11/05 6:54 PM, published 11/11/05 6:54 PM
My daughter will be turning 18 next month and I would like to get her a really good digital camera {that I can use too}.  Something {we} can practice with, but not be too expensive to regret spending the money...but I do want something GOOD...  Can anyone give me any advice?  We are both COMPLETE NOVICES!  Thanks....

take a look at dcresource.com. they've got a great price/feature comparison tool there and reviews of just about every camera out there. I'd stick with Canon or Nikon as they've got the rep, the quality and the lens superiority, and they're affordable!

I don't know about Be, but I think I just found my next camera! I was looking at the Evolt E-300, but I didn't like the way it looked with the flat top. The E-500 is cool looking, and offers some better features as well! I think I'm gonna try to get this one for Christmas/birthday...the dual lens kit, taboot!

the evolt- e-300 is currently on sale at Office Max, I think. I went to Canon.com and they have a camera finder...to help you pick a camera by your knowledge, what kind of camera, etc. That's how I picked my next camera...plus I asked Rockadee what he had, because I loved his images.

Buy the Canon Rebel XT if you can afford it. Getting into the DSLR business will mean you can expand as your interest grows. The 8MP results will give you very nice prints at almost any size.
