I was so excited, as I was blowing the leaves in the front yard..whats that I see? it's Santa in a brown UPS truck. Today was the day my canon 20D arrived, but kinda like a Christmas gift..I had to wait to open it. Finally 6 hours later I opened it, and started to read the Popup Link

Manual..thirlled to play with the parameter settings and shoot in sepia and Popup Link

B&W . I can't wait to learn what this camera can do..Damn now I wish I could afford the 5D..But that will have to wait..I got to watch my recording of tonights Popup Link

Lost ..and then go and wash those pans..Darn it,why didn't I check to see if they were cleaner?

Congrats on your new toy/tool. Tip for you. Set it on b&W or sepia and tell it to shoot in RAW JPG. The JPG files will be the b&w that you wanted but the RAW will be in color. 2 for the price of 1.

I have a 20D and suggest you get into RAW right away. You will spend a little more time with each picture but the results exceed the JPEG photos. As classyshots says , you can get both. Takes some card space but worth it. Stan

You can shoot RAW in the nude but this time of year you need to use faster shutter speeds because of the cold and camera shake.

Hey Chef, When you start playing around shooting RAW unless you have the latest and greatest PhotoShop you will need a good RAW converter. The one that comes with the camera is kind of like trying to fillet a chicken breast with a chain saw. I suggest looking at http://www.pixmantec.com/products/rawshooter_essentials.html It's free and does one hell of a job. PM or email me if you have questions on it.

Sorry Lilbit ..I think there was a mix up with Santa in the brown truck...you see he thought you wanted a pair of 20D stilettos..and get this they came from..( should I say it? )...Payless Shoes..there I said it..sorry..just a paper trail mistake, he said ..so be a good girl.

Now you did it.. Now lets see, You will need two 2GB Cards, 3 lenses, a Manfrotto Tripod, Filters, an extra Battery, A laptop, backpack... Oh yeah, you thought it was over. Hahahahahahahahahahahahah Hey what lens did you get? Oh wait you had a Rebel body before right? Lil, you need a Photographers License before you can fly one of these Puppies.. Oh wait forgot you earned yours ;)

I know..I'm in for it, for sure..I have 3 gigs in 3 cards..still not enough, I'm going to sell the Rebel and the 15-55mm, and the 75-300mm zoom...so I need to get a low priced telephoto to start with ..but I'll use the 300 until I sell it. I have a hiking pack and a hard shell case, along with the normal soft case..so I'm good there..and I have 3 batteries...the biggie now is the lens..any ideas..$$

a great little lens for portraits (of your daughter, for instance) is the EF50mm f1.8 II lens from Canon--it's cheap but great glass--I took several of those Lucy shots with it. You can see it here. Congrats on the purchase--you'll have a blast.
