For Jo Jo

I loved the Firetruck that I shot last week..here are my last addictions to its farewell...Do all Firemen forget where switches Popup LinkAre..And this kinda scares me..I hope this crew knew which end of the hose to  Popup LinkHold. Don't get me wrong, I think men that do this, are our everyday Hero's....Just struck me as odd.
Popup LinkHub.
Now for the rest of the discarded items..Popup LinkSomeones Bike..( SG's ).. Popup LinkRefer..Hee He.. I wanted to show those for Jo & Jo ..even the kitchen Popup LinkSink     Theres I'm sure a story behind each piece of junk here, and this shot said it all to me ....Like our Nation...are we still people with Popup LinkMorals...or is that in the junkyard too?

Fire trucks have these types of instructions on them because there are many different configurations of controls from truck to truck. We have 31 fire stations in my department. We have four different models of fire trucks, and each model differs from year to year on control placement. Plus we have various other support vehicles, water trucks, crew bus, and light & air units. If you end up working at a station that is not your normal assignment these instructions are quite helpful. Fortunately none of our trucks are as old as the one you photographed. It is kid of a bummer seeing them in that condition, but alas, everything breaks down and wears out.

Thanks for the info DSW..again it ..on the surface seemed odd..but no disrespect intended. When I was a young boy the firemen in my area saved out house 3 times..and my dog...so I have a deep respect for their, and your service. How'd you like my photos?

adding to dsw, within our dept we are supposed to clear the station within 60 seconds of an alarm. at night that means waking up, recognizing the address, getting dressed in bunker gear and getting out the doors in the time it takes most people to zombie thru a commercial. nicely marked red this's and yellow thats help at times... but mostly better lights and adrenaline are all thats needed :O).... cool pics and story btw

    - believe...

Chef, your powers of observation and composition are flawless. And, although that place is ripe with photographic potential, how disgusting that it is all left there to rot!

Chef009, absolutely no offence or disrespect taken. Your post left me wanting to see more, which I got to see in your profile. Very good detail and clarity. I personally am still learning to appreciate black and white photography. I’m going to have to take a shot at it one day, maybe a B&W self portrait to try two things at once. Overall your style is very different from mine which is great for me to see. Helps give me a different perspective and ideas for future shooting.

Not the trucks but you last set of shots could have been from my neck of the woods. The Morals shot is good---and sure hope that our morals have not all gone by the wayside. Thanks for your perspectives. 11-30-05 7:39pm est
