What a crummy day yesterday was. (Oddly enough it seems as though it has been longer ago than that.) I was fired only a half hour into the day. The reasons were obviously made up. Although we have since figured out the financial motivation behind such sadly.  Still it's not a very nice Christmas present, and I am at a bit of a loss as I find myself faced with a job search at such a crucial time.  It was a good thing, though, that I was home, the Houston skies opened up yesterday and our backyard began to flood, which in turn can cause our house to flood.  I spent hours replacing towels along the back walls of the house trying to contain the water. (Though exhausting at the time, we are ok now.) But despite it all, my spirits did not hit rock bottom. I received a very Popup Linkwonderful Popup Linkdeliveryfrom my husband during the downpour that lifted my  Popup Linkspirits. If only for a little while I stopped the panic of the many situations and literally stopped to Popup Linksmell the Popup Linkroses.

  • Cathelle, I've been exactly where you are now and I can promise you, you'll survive. I got so tired of hearing people tell me that when one door closes, another opens. But it's very true and, most often, that open door leads to something even better. Congratulations...you're on your way.

Roses are a sign of love, and your husband and you will be tested..keep your eyes focused on the aroma of your love and not the thorns of hardship that may try to come your way..LOVE..and support each other.I know I was let go over 5 months ago and still can't find the job that will support my family..I hope this will not be your fate..but, even in a time as this ...where I find myself feeling way short of the head of my household..all I have to hang on to is LOVE. ..God bless you and your family..I haven't given up ..and you won't either...go get'em.

  • beautiful flowers, and what a great husband. Don't worry--you'll land on both feet and be stronger for it! You're right, though--what a rotten time to do it. You didn't happen to work for someone whose last name was Scrooge, did you?

What a wonderful thing your husband did. Try not to let everything else get you down -- all will be well in the end. How? As they said in Shakespeare In Love: "It's a mystery!" But we're all pulling for you!

  • Thank you very much.. really I just wanted to show the flowers though. I'm usually not one much for roses but they are so very pretty, perhaps it's more the thought behind them. When I was standing in the backyard, with the water rising on the porch over the top of my boots I kept saying... "really.. I don't need to be tested." :)
