It's Saturday, we must be camping: Seminole Canyon, TX

Friday is San Antonio; Saturday is Seminole. There are two hikes here; the first is about 10 miles roundtrip from the campground to where Seminole Canyon empties into the Rio Grande. Pressa Canyon is a side canyon that joins with Seminole Canyon. The second is a roughly 1/2 mile to the windmill ruin (it's still there). The Pecos River High Bridge (275 feet above the water) is a few miles west of the campground. Westex49 -- Armastad is at capacity. Wow, what beautiful country! I"m especially intrigued by the terrain in the first few shots--the clouds give the impression that there's been so much rain that the ground is absolutely saturated. And I like the spots of light in the windmill shot (the thumbnail). What a great trip that must have been!

Graet shot of Seminole Canyon/ RIo Grande. I love west Texas. I spent some time photographing Big Bend NP about 20 years ago. My great grand father's brother left San Saba co. about 1900 when there go to be to many people and ranched in Loving Co. father north.... I love the atomosphere in the open spaces.

These photos make you feel like you are so secluded and it looks so serene.  I had no idea Texas was so pretty  because all I have ever seen is flatlands.  Very nice.
