What a wonderful Photoshop job with the pics of your grandson. When I first got to your post I thought, "Gee, I hope the thumbnail isn't Betalil's grandson." But not to worry, not so.

mar-mot, n. 1.) any bushy-tailed, stocky rodent of the genus Marmota, as the woodchuck. 2.) any of certain related animals, as the prairie dogs. [F marmotte]

Yes, he is a cutie. Was my first attempt at collages, fairly happy with the result.

    Thanks all.

  • Ah, you should be! He's definitely a cutie, with a lot of personality. As for the marmot--we have them all over our downtown park, which has a river running through the middle of it. The marmots hang out on the sides of the river.

The author and NPR personality David Sedaris was here a couple of months ago speaking and we got to go. He specifically mentioned how excited he was to see the marmots we have since he'd never seen them before. As a matter of fact, he said "If I hadn't been with someone I would have screamed!" So that's our little claim to fame here.
