  • Although I'm Switzerland in the Canon/Nikon battle, I love the cannon.  And I agree with Matt about the painting quality of infrared.  Really nice.

My fav is the last one.  But, why does a church need a canon (aside from the need to take the best photos possible)?

  • Here is the reason Kody
    can·on·ize  (kn-nz)
    tr.v. can·on·ized, can·on·iz·ing, can·on·iz·es
    1. To declare (a deceased person) to be a saint and entitled to be fully honored as such.
    2. To include in the biblical canon.
    3. To include in a literary canon.
    4. To approve as being within canon law.
    5. To treat as sacred; glorify.

Smalltown -- I shot the cannon w/a Minolta which neutralizes it and Moose, too funny.  As for the cannon itself -- most of the missionary churches in Texas were part of a presidio -- a combo military/missionary complex -- like the Alamo.  Mixing violence with salvation isn't a new development.

They are indeed beautiful, and do look like the wonderful old movies of the fifties. Everything about them just say's class.

  • Is that infrared film or digital? It is beautiful. I can see that my PS plugin doesn't come close to the real thing.

The infrared is digital.  I use a Hoya R72 filter to get the effect.

I've also tried via photoshop to create an infrared look.  The plug-ins (actually actions) I use can be downloaded from here.  http://www.nickgallery.com/web_pages/technical%207.htm  Good luck.
