The Mexican Trestle shots are really special.  I would love to know some historical facts about the structure; think I will browse the net for something.  If I don't find it will bug you again, Wilk.  Around 1990 I drove through Cloudcroft and never knew what I missed; I guess that's what they mean by "take time to stop and smell the roses."

All are great pics!  I love the color contrast in the silhoutte, crosses and whitesands pics.  If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the crosses.  That is some awesome chainsaw work, and you captured it beautifully!

There's a rare chromatic inversion that occurs only at this altitude that causes the clouds to reflect off the glass beads in the sand, giving the appearance of white sand.  In fact, if you squat or stand on your hood the illusion vanishes and you think you're in the Sahara.  Either that, or it's the gypsum.

I suspect the trestle had to be "cropped" at both ends to prevent daredevils, drunks and others w/out much sense from hurting themselves.  It's not an easy place to perform a rescue.
