I was out driving around today, and although I see these every day, it never crossed my mind to photograph them. They are found at the local VFW. A little farther out, I revisited the quanset hut so I could get a better pic of it for those of you who actually knew what it was when I just posted the windows.
Even farther out the road (out of the 10 mile radius) I saw this
I also did an experiment today. Cruising at 78 mph and
Hope y'all enjoy!

Like #4 and #7 has a neat perspective. But both of the old machinerys were very cool - like the atmosphere - good tone for those subjects!

For those of you youngsters and city folk:
Image Two shows a 'disk' in the forground - used to first turn up the soil in the spring (the two tray above the disks would hold extra wieght to drive the disks further into the ground). In the background is a 'harrow' that would be drawn over the 'disked' ground to break up larger 'clods' of dirt.
Image One is a 'planter' - the drum holds the seed that feeds down thru the blade below it as it travels thru the dirt. Since there is only one drum that means it could only plant one row of corn or beans at a pass thru the field.
All of these implements are horse or mule drawn - though the disk and harrow may have been.
Thus spake the city guy who was raised on a farm. :^)

though the disk and harrow may have been used with early tractors.
