Chef, I love these photos.....you're so brave!  My favorite is "Working the Larva".  Good job!

  • UncleVernon
Incredible (!!!) is the only word I can come up with.
The bee beeing (sic) born and the finger dip images are neat, but I really could choose a favorite.

  • chef009
I'll bite, Moose...how do you scare a bee?

Wow these are the neatest pics...so the smoke makes the bees docile? Are they burning an eighth from SG?

  • chef009
I was told that smoke makes them fear there is a fire coming..so they must survive, so back to the hive and fill up on honey..so they can last longer if they lose their shelter.

Fantastic, Chef!  Some of these were hard for me to look at, but I got past my fear and continued on.  I'm glad I did; I've never seen this up close.  BusyB's husband does this, but I've never watched the process.  You are a brave soul.....thanks!

Chef, these are great.  Do you have help with all these boxes or is it a one man job.  My husband only has 12 hives and works them himself.   I used to be little afraid of them and would not get close to the box, but now does not bother me--our grandsons are not afraid of getting close to them either.
After their hard work WHY did you have to stick your finger there and mess it up?  Can't blame you, the honey sure does taste good.
After eating our "honey" do not like what is purchased at the store (tasted too weak).
For those of you with certain allergies, "pure honey" is good for you.

Great pictures!  I agree with the previous comments.  It is difficult to pick a favorite when they are all so good.  I couldn't get over the wings.  Fantastic!
