She looks very sad.  Maybe she needs a hug.  Very good photo, though.

Could be any number of scenarios....needing time to reflect....wanting to be outside, but got too cold and had to stop and try to warm up....just dumped significant other.....
Whatever the scenario, this is an excellent photo that does what was intended...makes you think.  Love the composition; looks great in b/w.  Wonder how it would look with a black frame instead of a gold one?  Just a thought.

I would call it 'dressed in black' the stone , the figure, the trees are all dressed in  a somber tone.

Black frame much better--and the pic does cause one to maybe reflect on what is happening in our own life.

I think everyone is right, or not. The story that goes with it depends on the story we have lived, and will relive, if provoked by such a picture as yours. My thoughts... i think you captured on very thought provoking picture. What is she thinking... ask 1 person and she is grieving a terrible loss of a loved one.. ask another and she fears she has failed.. perhaps ask another and she returns to this rock, this quiet place of refuge to thank Gos he never let her... ask still another and she is weary of life. Only 1 knows her heart... and only we know ours. such is the simplicity and complexity of life.

Touche'........being an optimist...i would like to think that she is enjoying her solitude......except for the fact that her head is down.......and she is not facing all the beauty around her.........great capture Bill!
