On Wednesday, I took my Popup Linkson to the beach of Lake Michigan.  He found all kinds of things to look at, like a piece of Popup Linkdriftwood and a large bed of colorfull Popup Linkpebbles.  Daddy took some time to find some Popup Linkbeach grass to shoot.

Well, there you have it. . . a Day at the Beach!

Enjoy

I really liked beach grass.  The angle really makes the shot (that and the black and white).

Lucas is growing and adorable!  Beach photos with no ocean pix?  Like the pebbles shot too. I see you have your inspiration back!

The colors of the pebbles are great and the B&W is perfect for the grass.

  • actually, Jenssis--I kind of like that idea of being somewhere and not taking the expected shot-- would make a neat theme!

    Nice shots, dm.

Lake Michigan is so beautiful, thats why I asked about the photo.. and my comment about ocean ... not ocean there...but water.  Our lakes around here are muddy, and the Michigan lakes have such beautiful color.

Funny Uncle V!  I made a similar comment to my wife a couple of weeks ago (you should see him in overall's).  One of the cashiers at the quickie-mart says he looks like Lyle Overbey (spelling could be wrong) who plays for the Milwaukee Brewers.  I don't see it myself, but. . .

Thanks, everyone, for the comments.  It is nice to get back into the fold after a stretch of no photos.

From the looks of things, I will have to do more grass!  (no I don't smoke the stuff, but it makes a somewhat funny joke).  That is probably my favorite as well, but the red in the pebble really stood out for me.

The reason for the beach shots with no water is mostly because the lake was pretty nasty that day (and Lake Michigan, around Milwaukee, really isn't all that clean to start with).  Lots of algae.  Also, no water, because I didn't like the haze that was produced
