Colorful stars

 I found it very hard to photograph the stars and the moon together the other night, so the stars are a little blurred..but what I loved about it was the color of the stars..hope you enjoy... Popup LinkStars and Moon

    Wow, I like that. It's like I sometimes see them with the naked eye, but never in a picture, then they are always just white. Way cool chef, got any others? The red ones seem smaller for some reason.

    I think the color relates to the distance from Earth.... if I recall well. Anyone can expand (the physics experts, for example??????

    Yes, I used the 300 lens..but theres a trick to the shot..since the moon is much closer than the stars..duh! you can't get a balanced shot of the two sources of light. So I first went out and shot the stars in the sky aprox..to were the moon was goning to be in a short time. Later I went out and shot the moon. Then I used photoshop to extract the moon..... from the shot with blurred and non visible stars, and laid it on top of the clearer star shot. I think to be able to get a normal shot in one take it would take a lens that cost more than my car ..even if it' were possible..but it was the real moon and the real stars as seen that night. The real problem was to try and get as best as possible...an in focus adjustment of the stars in the view finder ...it's hard to do

    Refraction off of Ice Crystals in the atmosphere is resposable for Color Or maybe just Sensor Noise :) I don't think we are actually detecting Blue Giants or Red Giants or White Dwarfs... Cause everybody know there were no White Dwarfs, That is why Sleeping Beauty was sleeping with them. Oh BTW did I say, nice PIC Chef. I was wondering about it cause I said no way could my camera meter right for the Moon and still get the stars!!! You tricky Bast*%$
