Sorry to dissent, but here goes. On the middle two shots there are problems with focus. Particularly on the face on the third. I also think the exposure is too dark on all of these. I found myself yearning for some background, no matter how muted. I think it would have made for a more interesting composition with more depth and paths for the eye to follow. Regarding the human body as a subject, I do believe it can be done artfully when the motive is to show that beauty of form. I'm reminded of some of Debora's work as examples of this. To me, this posting appears to be designed to titillate rather than show the beauty of the human form. That makes it come off as tawdry rather than beautiful. I can't help but wonder what the response would be to a man holding a rose in his teeth and wearing obviously too-small bikini briefs and a come-hither look. I suspect a lot of folks would be creeped out. Just because someone shows some skin does not make it a good photograph. Sorry, but that's my opinion. I'll probably get slammed on this comment, but hey, no guts no glory.

nice shots , be careful of the thorns

Tom. Ditto. Thought the same when I saw the photos, but being new here, decided to be politely quiet. However, not bad work for a young portfolio. I still look at my shots in the 70's when studying the craft in college and shutter. . .I mean shudder. To this day I look at my shots and at times wonder how in the heck do I make a living at this? As my old photo mentor told me in college, "If you want to go, get rid of the ego." Good comments, hope you don't get slammed. It's why we are here, to learn and appreciate the work of many. If any of you want a pic of me in a pink thong at 48yrs. old, 6'2", 290lbs ex-athlete with surgery scars to prove it, will be glad to post. NOT! I love shooting the human body, artfully. Keep posting Kitzi. Love much of your posted work here. Maybe more time behind the viewfinder and less time PSing? Just a question.

I like the PS work in the last one. They may be a little dark, but for me it works.

I agree with tom and dcraton, but they are a nice set. You do have a very excellent eye. Perhaps you could find an in between with your lighting so that they're not so light as to change the mood you're setting but not too dark as to hide promising features of the photograph. Just a suggestion, take it with a grain of salt :-)

I'm halfway in agreement with Tom. I like the PS colors & the muted-ness of the photos, but I'm wary to open your posts at work b/c of the content. These shots are lovely, and I'm sure the guys don't mind, but I don't really want to see your hand on your bra. I like the first shot best ~ It's pretty & enticing without being too provocative.

Mr. Tomnorth i appreciate your interest in my work :) and of course it is very important for me the fact that you are trying to correct my mistakes.:)) happy holidays and a great 2007 year :*:*:*:

  • mikesathome
kitzishior333 sure did it for me in that set. They all were a little bit to dark. Happy New YEAR!!!

I think the psing in the last one would look better if it wasn't a circle. I think that just the rose needs to be spot colored. I do think you have an artistic eye. But I have to say I am part in agreement with Tom and Dcraton. If I had a 17 year old daughter and found out she was posting pics of herself like these tying to look sexy I would be very disappointed. Kitzishoir I would like to see your shots not be so sexual. I could care less if you are the subject or not. That is beside the point. But I do think you are coming across like Tom said making your shots more for the shock value then the art. You have the ability of taking fantastic shots and I don't want people here to start skipping your posts because they are expecting them to be you trying to be sexy.

Common Tom: take the stick out of your ass. It seens that every so often you need to show your misery. I don't think your giving critique but just being grumpy

  • TheExperiment
Nice to see you back. Nice shots
