Girl, these are great! Where did you find these birds, I know you didn't get that close out in mother nature to them....LOL I liked the colored tree better, and wish it was off centered, remember the thirds rule..;0)

  • Ha, I was thinking the same thing lil, the tree being off center would be better, but I like the sepia version. Chucker 1 made be laugh, he just looks funny.

I agree with lilbit about the thirds rule, I 'm leaning towards the color shot. All of your shots are very nice..the pheasent shot is my fav...great job.

I love all the bird shots. Can't decide on color or sepia though. They are both excellent just that each has a little different character. Nice work!

perhaps the colored tree would look better in b&w. This is how I would do it with photoshop: convert with a channel mixer adjustment layer, check monochrome. Start with red=0 green=132, blue=-32. Then play with it. If you want to add a touch of color, add a curves adjustment layer, slightly change the curves in the green and blue channel.

These are fantastic shots. At first I though they were painted wooden statues(see "Rooster"), the colors and details are so brillant.

  • Great shots! I like the sepia best of the two and agree that it should be off-centered.

Okay I know the rule of thirds. But these shots were for an order you could say. A lady I know wants some tree shots to be framed and matted. So that is the reason for the centering. There is a method to my madness. That is what the choices thing is all about.

  • Sepia. And, strangely enough, I like it centered. It plays on the isolated feeling. Ask me tomorrow and I might want it off-center but today... Rest of the shots were great Penny! Love the texture of the feathers and the door knobs were great shots.

  • nice birds and yeah the chucker is quite the unique bird! I vote for sepia, though the contrast might be strengthened just a bit to see what it looks like.

  • Wow, these are great. I really like Pheasant and the two Chuckers shots. Gorgeous. On the last choice, I really prefer the color version. The steel blue and the golden color of the grasses mix beautifully.

I think this is the same kitty in the same place. But he could see out of both eyes still when I took this shot.

  • Great shots! Loved the doorknob, the sheep and those chuckers are chunky! I vote for the sepia tone on the tree shot, I liked what it did for the sky.

I was trying to explain the "chuckers" to my hubby. He kept asking what they looked like. I told him the colors and I said "they are round". They are.....LOL
