Really Still Life

By vtandrew written 2/26/06 6:30 AM, published 2/26/06 6:30 AM

I know this really doesn't qualify as a true "Still Life", but this is the stillest life around our house. Taken on the deck in a bright sunbeam yesterday afternoon...

These were awesome! Now thats a macro! What lens did you use for these? BTW that is a beautiful dog.

Nice shots of a really mellow and patient dog! I like the way the whiskers lit up like a fiber optic cable. Think I like The Subject and Pad the best though. Thanks!

When I first looked at the nose macro I thought: "EWWWW grosse". But the more I looked at it the more I realized that it is a really GREAT shot. I think I liked the whiskers one the best though.

Cool! And I agree with SG--give that baby a hug and a treat for being so patient.

I would have to sneak up on my dogs while they were sleeping to get any still shots. Great work!

Dogs are the best! These photos are excellent. Restraint , paw, pad are my favorites. All excellent.

These are some really close-ups....like light the best.....and just how in the world did the dog show such restraint and let you take these images?

Wow! In "Restraint", I first thought it was a very scary tongue, until I read the pics name as "collar". Then, I could see it... Amazing macro. Would love to know what you are using for a lens. Hope to see more macro from you.

Thanks all.. these were taken with a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro Lens on a Canon EOS 20D. My dog (Sam) is as good as they come. Just say "stay" and snap away. (And he's gets plenty of treats in compensation :) Here's a full body shot: http://paxunum.org/sam2.jpg
