A few years ago we flew to Chattanooga for a friends wedding. These are a few shots from the flight.

Portland, Oregon is a city divided by a river. There are Popup Linkeight bridges that tie it all together. This was taken shortly after take off from PDX. We stopped in L.A. to toss a few bodies off and pick up some fresh ones. Popup LinkThis sunset is looking back West from somewhere over AZ.  Coming back West I had picked my seat on the side of the plane and had it all set up so I would be able to see the Grand Canyon. I really lucked out and the clouds broke just as we got over  Popup LinkThe Canyon. Popup LinkOne more shot of The Canyon.

If you are going to shoot while flying... Clean the window, keep your camera as close to the window as you can to cut unwanted reflections and use a U.V. or haze filter if you have one. Best shooting time as per normal for landscapes is early morning and late evening because of haze problems.

Did you know that with an average weight of 4.5 grams it would take 7,500,000 of Popup LinkThese to equal the weight of a 737 with an average load on it?

I got a nose bleed over Portland, and the grand canyon was smaller than I remember....oh yea, everything is from that high up......except your talent.

The X is an interesting spot. It is a residential area. I no idea why they set it up that way but it's sure different.

Amazing! Simply AMazing. I am speechless and that is really something for me. Loved the humming bird too.

BTW.... the shots from the air were taken with my old Nikon CP5000 point and shoot. Those of you without the high dollar cameras and lenses can get good shots too. I see some great stuff posted on this site. Keep working at it and get to know what your camera will do.

Thanks all. One of my pretty boys is back. One of the male Anna's showed up today. I hope he sticks around for a while. I'm leaving Monday for the week. Don't know if I'll get any shots of him or not before I go.
