Yesterday, Kay pondered what thePopup Linkold depot I posted would look like in black and white. So, I made a couple of non-color attempts.

 Popup LinkB&W
 Popup LinkSepia

And one new shot from a small town.  These really hit me because someone somewhere once called this place home, not his building per se, but the place it inhabited in the past.  And now only brick and memories remain.

I like both versions....b/w & sepia....I get a different feel from each one. Thanks for doing that! Can't go home is such a lonely shot.....

I liked all the different ones, each for a different reason. The last one does look lonely. :o)

The sepia is wonderful on that old depot, really gives it the sense of having age. I thought the sepia had more depth than b/w for some reason. Last shot is a winner!

The colors are so vivid, it took a minute for my eyes to adjust to b/w. Personally, I like the aging effect of the sepia tones best. Love the last photo, as well.

I like your sepia shot of the old depot. I also like your last shot - it has a lonely look.

I'm usually a blk/wht fan but I think the 1st one takes the prize today.

Like the sepia the best...........and agree about the last picture......it does have a very lonely, deserted feel to it.

Thanks for all the comments! Color Depot is my fav, but I do kind of like the Sepia as well. I'm glad Kay asked what it would look like. Glad everyone seemed to like the forlorn can't go home. Thanks!

I like the b/w version, myself--really brings out the clouds and gives it a very lonely, documentary feeling.
