good catch, jessa. I liked that about this picture. I felt really sorry for the animals at the Houston zoo. They were surrounded by fences, wire and walls. Some of them paced back and forth nervously. Others were lethargic. This camel just wanted a snack and tried to get some soft leaves outside its pen. I have other shots, but they're just too depressing. I love the San Diego zoo--it feels like you're nowhere near the city (behind the camels in Houston was a hospital adding a new wing, so there was construction noise and a crane swinging about) and that the animals are separate but accessible. But I'm afraid most zoos are like this one--cages, pensive animals, uncreative displays--but I haven't been to any others. What's it like in your part of the world?
Johnny........I WARNED ya about the Houston Zoo.....but NOOOooooooooo, you had to see for yourself.......LOL...it is better than the SA Zoo....yucko...when we lived in Abilene, there was a very very very small Zoo.....but it was clean and roomy and the animals looked happy....i miss that zoo! :oP
