I was messin round with my camera and finally decided to play with the timer... here's what I came up with.. I'd much rather be behind the camera than in front of it, but my mom has been wanting some pics so figured I'd give it a go.

I like 4 & 1. I think you and Alex is a cute picture also.

What a cutie you are! I like #4 and #7, but your mom is probably a little less interested in your legs than I am....

I'm with Sax--4 and 7. Much more comfortable images. And shame on you Sax!

These are very nice self-portraits; they capture a little of your personality which is hard to do. Practice some more to get the focus sharper, but otherwise well done.

I assure you, i am NOT interesting in your legs....but i do agree that 4 and 7 capture your personality......you seem more relaxed and comfy in them......good job!

Good first effort! You look quite comfortable in front of the camera. May I suggest you add some soft lights during your next set. Most of your shots seem a bit "flat" and the harsh shadow that outlines you (caused by the onboard flash) is a bit distracting. There is a lot of good info on how to set up for portraits on the web. I like to use a strong light on one side (slightly in front) a weaker one on the other (fill light) and one small light below (to soften the jawline). I find it works best for portraits. Play around with the lights, and also with the camera's White Balance setting and you'll get professional looking shots.

Self portraits are incredible difficult. Setting up the camera, lighting, poses without the benefit of a viewfinder. Keep practicing....and porkchop gave some great advice....maybe next time use a window during late afternoon for lighting, too.

    Great shots. :o)

Great advice, Porkchop--I was going to suggest the natural lighting route since a few of these are a bit too harsh. Still, very nice set.

Thanks for all the feedback and advice I appreciate it and will certainly put it to use the next time around.
