My Mom and I went Popup LinkMorel picking this morning. The Popup LinkFlowers and Morels are starting to grow. We found enough morels for a Popup LinkMorel supper along with mac and cheese. The  Popup LinkMorel is one of my favorite spring snacks. The Popup LinkWhite Trillium will be blooming soon along with many other wildflowers.

Black morels are up here too. Haven't been mushrooming for years but they sure are tasty. We usually dip in a flour/seasoning coating and fry'em up for sandwiches or alone. Man, wish I had some now!

Jimmy, I am so impressed by all the knowledge you have about the plants and animals in Michigan. My favorites today are #1 morel and #4 morel. I am anxiously awaiting your pictures of White Trillium blooming.

Great job, I liked the first morel. Like the detail. They hunt them around here also, I have never been, but tried eating it once, not too bad. We eat mushrooms with everything, but they are store bought. :o)

More morel please. Reminds me of stone age medicine women who knew all the value of plants, roots and flowers. A lost art? Excellent photos, nice textures and contrasts.

MMMMmmmm.....Morels are as good as gold in Michigan. People could be tortured to death before they will give out info on thier mushrooming spots!!! We haven't had any luck around here yet. Cool shots Jimmy.

  • Morels...We don't have them here in Massachusetts either, but I know of people who pay A LOT of money just for an ounce of them (dried). They are tasty, and I would say you are one lucky camper to have them there. Enjoyed your pics!!
