I moved to Deaver, Wyoming in 2001. Deaver is about 70 miles northeast of Yellowstone National Park and this sign is/was (road work since, it is now gone to my disappointment) outside of Powell, WY.  I hope you can read it.  Seeing this sign reminded me of all the "Smokey the Bear" commercials which were on television when I was growing up.  Preventing forest fires was the goal.  When I saw this sign I felt both sad and happy, nostalgic. :) I am glad I took a picture before it was taken down. Hope you all like it.

  • I forgot, on the sign, it says "Roast these, not trees". The big white puff in the middle is a marshmallow on a stick.

"I love you 'mokey bear." That's the line that stuck with me. Used it in a conversation with my daughter a while back (I swear, it was appropriate to what we were talking about) and she just looked at me like she figured I had forgotten my meds that day. I went to your profile and looked at a larger version of this photo and your others. Nice!

  • Weird, I am 47 too! :) Smokey the Bear was the thing when I was growing up! I can still hear his voice! Bugaboo huh? That's ok, I call my sister "Ludes" cuz her name is LuDeanne (pronounced loodeen) Ludes just seems right. LOL Glad you guys like the picture! Jwwp, thank you for the comments about my other pictures.
