Bishop's Castle

Willard Bishop began building this castle by hand in 1969. Later his son Jim took over and he is still going at it.

We have something similar, yet not so fantastic. It is called the Winchester Mystery House. A woman named Carson kept adding onto it over her lifetime and left (supposedly) enough money so that constuction would never end. She had a strong belief in the occult and spirits, so a recurring number is 13. Doors, stairs, windows, dormers, you name it. Fantastic photos, by the way! Where is this place?

Like the view from the window..and the old stove. Now just where might a person need to be in order to visit this castle.

Great shots, bigvern! There used to be a place around here that was called the Barn House. A guy just kept building on to his house in an odd manner. Some of the rooms you had to climb to on a ladder... it was weird looking. I think it burned down a 4 or 5 years ago. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/INBOWbarn.html
