Hi Penny, I love the sun contrast on the material and then shadow contrast on the shed. The peeling paint lends a great image texture. Being able to see the grain of the wood on the shed lends to that texture effect too.

  • Great capture. Here in Idaho people use closets. Not everybody, but most people. Why would someone leave a labcoat hanging outside like that? Do people in Michigan not have closets? Or maybe, it is being used as a curtain. Now that's creative.

Like the shot; But I thought harassing the Amish was a sin & punishable up to 3 years of plowing fields.

I really enjoyed this shot...white on white...but I think the building could use another coat.

Sorry, Penny, I commented on this last night but must have forget to actually hit the ok button(sleepy). Mike's already used my Amish joke and chef the coat of paint pun which I didn't think of anyway so I'll guess I'll just comment on the photo. A novel concept, at least for me! Great shot, very interesting, like the "high key" look of the white on white, also the similar state of disrepair of the paint and the coat. Makes you think even though it looks set up.

LOL chef!! That is a great capture, something I would walk right by & never see. Thats another reason to love this site. Having the chance to see through others eyes what I would miss! Although, I look more now.

Well this shot was actually one I almost walked by. I was at an auction. My mom said "did you see that?" That's when I took the shot. Yes that "lab" coat was up for sale. I think the man that had lived there used it when he did meat processing. I took soooooo many shots that day I am still going through them. BTW we do have closets here up north in Michigan too!! lol Thanks for all the great and funny comments!

I am glad that you explained the picture. It is very neat the way you have the two white textures and then the sunlight shining across leaving some shadow - cool!

Love the mood. My mind translates the coat into an old "duster" airing out.
