Or as Loweho says where TravLin and I went for our parole hearing.

We met at the Popup LinkHouse Of Seven Gables. It was a Popup Linkneat place.  Even with the haunting we had...  After we left there we took the trolly ride to learn more about the town.  Then we went to the memorial for the witch trials.  It was very interesting.  Here are some of the people who were killed last statements: Popup Link"To my dying...."
Popup Link"God knows..."
Popup Link"I plead..."
This is the park that is the memorial.  Each one of the Popup Linkstone benches has the persons name, how they were Popup Linkkilled and the date.  It was very interesting.  And contrary to popular belief non were burned at the stake.  Most were hung.  Then we went into the Popup Linkcemetary next to the memorial.  None of the so called witches are there.  The bodies were disgarded after hanging for days and thrown into the woods.  For the animals to take care of.  In the cemetary there was even a person who came over on the Mayflower.  It was very interesting.  These are just some things that caught my eye: Popup LinkInto the streets & Popup LinkDown an alley.  If you ever have a chance to go there it is a great place to see.  And if you get a chance to meet up with someone from Photographica do it!  TravLin is a super person and I'm sure I will see her again!  Thanks for the great day TravLin!!

  • Nice post Penny. Salem is so quaint. As kids we used to be spooked by all the witchery there.

Super post Penny and TravLin!! It looks like you had a wonderful day. I really loved the stones with the writings on them. I would have been stuck there all day reading them all. Those benches are very cool the way they are built into the wall. Love the street and alley shots - neat angles.

  • Nice stuff! Salem is a pretty cool place to visit! The day I went, it was cold and rainy, sure gave it the right atmosphere, but we didn't stay very long because of it. ;)

We didn't go to the beach that day. Sopris try to get there. There is so much history in the town. Not to mention it is just beautiful. I highly recommend the trolly ride.

  • Penny... awesome shots! You know what is cool? We were both at the same places, took many shots of the same things, but from different points of view. I just love the angles you shoot from. What an eye you have :) Thanks again for a great time. The parole hearing went well, wouldn't you say? Tell the family I say hello...

Thanks for the tour, Penny. Looks like you and Travlin had a good day to shoot. I enjoyed the unique "stone benches". "Into the streets" & "Down an alley" are both excellent shots.

I probably just asked if you went there for parole hearings. It was not my intention to imply you guys could be mistaken for witches. Great shootin' Penny, Loved the stones and benches, heck loved them all. Barb and I lived in Ayer, MA for 6 months in 1973 and you and TV's shots bring back a lot of memories.

Into the streets is my favorite, I find it so hard to believe people were so ignorant at the time, it is really very sad when you think of how many mothers and wives were killed. Sorry, I know I sound gloomy but that is what i was feeling reading the stones. An awesome post, glad to see you two had a good time!
