I Bet You Wish You Could Have Shot This One....

My husband told me there was a baby bird in my drive way.  He wanted me to put it somewhere safe so it wouldn't get run over.  So I went out to move it and take pics.  It was a baby Popup Linkblue jay.  I was taking pics and heard  Popup Linkmom.  She was not happy with me.  So she started dive bombing me. I went in the house after grabbing the baby and sitting it in a safe place.  Then couldn't resist.  Came out and found another Popup Linkbaby.  At this point mom had had enough of me.  She was really ticked  Popup Linksitting right above me on the roof.  Then I had went off taking other pic.  Came back in the area looked at the baby and didn't see mean old mom.  Got side tracked taking pics of a weed/flower and WHAM right in the head!  She hit me!  Right on top of the head.  I think I pushed it too far.  I had went to Lil's house came back stepped out of my van.  About an hour or longer later and she got me again.  It had to be something to see.  I have never in my life actually seen a bird hit someone like that.

Bonus: While on the subject of feathered ones

Like mom and baby and the images the story created in my head of you being dive bombed. Also liked all the feathers. Once, in Cypress Gardens, I was fiddling with the camera, Barb was getting something to drink and I felt something on my head. Looked around...nothing! But I noticed I was like in the center of a circle of people who were ooohing and aaahing, and Barb was laughing. This went on for 5 or 6 hits, each progressively rougher, before I caught what was obvious to everyone else. A bird was plucking hairs out of my head and flying up to a nest placing the hairs and coming back for more. I finally had to get under one of the vendors roofs to stop it. Quite funny, to almost everyone one in the area, especially Barb.

Now Penny, you know how protective moms are of their young....am trying to picture you trying to get away,,, this would have been a really great series if someone could have captured that. Like the detail in baby.
