*That's* what I was waiting for--B&W!! Better. And love Dad's slides--nothing like Kodachrome!

Have to admit, Bill, I went to your Dad's slides first cause I was curious about how they held up since I have some almost that old. I was impressed not just with the photography but how well they did hold up. Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. As for the b/w, I was a little leery to see these cause I think the subtle, mulit-hued coloring of the canyon is part of its beauty. But again I was pleasantly surprised and actually liked them, not quite as well as your color ones, but close and that may just be my bias. Trail II was my favorite. A great set and a great series, I hope there's more. Almost forgot, did you shoot any IR while there?

I am a black and white fan. But I do think color is the way to go on these. Your dads shots are pretty nice ones for being old. I agree with Lowe that the apple doesnt fall far from the tree.

Don -- I took a couple test shots w/infrared and didn't like the way they came out so I decided not to hall two cameras around. The color did shift a little on the slides, but not like you see in color prints that old.

Well, you went and did it Wilk...I can almost smell the red dirt of the canyon on my clothes. Your Dad's slides were great. It's interesting for me to look at 1969 and compare it to when I worked there in 1986. There didn't seem to be a lot of changes. I have a feeling the next time I go, that may not be the case. There was no train to the canyon when I worked there for example. Thanks for the memories!

    Nice, including your father's!

Another awesome set! Although put me in the color category for preference, & getting the opportunity to view your dads slides was great!

Wonderful shots...all of them...you really get a feel for what it must look like....and yep....runs in the family that photography thing!

These are really good, Wilk, but, I like the color in this set best; seems to show the detail more. Your dad's slides are great!

Trail 1 is the one I liked best, but I really prefer the color in this case because you don't see the stripes of color in the BW shots. Your Dad's photos held up nicely and he also did a good job.

Great shots, I do prefer the color shots best. Thanks for sharing your dads shots, neat to compare and see how well they have held up. :o)

Wilk, I love seeing shots of the canyon! I really liked the B&W. Did you visit the Kolb Studio when you were there? Did you take the time to watch the little movies in that little side room? If so, I know you enjoyed looking at their B&W photography of the canyon and the mules and all things about Grand Canyon Exploration. Nice job. I also liked your Dad's shots. He must have been your inspiration to get into photography. He did a good job on you. You are very talented.
