I like that first egret shot, the angle and reflection on the water is very serene and the color being muted seems to add to the effect.

Really like the egrets - first two- I like the reflections. Pelicans do show a lot of detail.

I love your back yard! These shots are fantastic! I got a few shots of some critters over the past couple of days....in the process of looking at them...hope they're half as good as these......

Behold the lowly Pelican, His beak can hold more than his belly can; His singular wish is gathering fish, But I don't see how the hell he can. Great shots SG, Happy 4th.

SG I really liked the first two egret shots. The details of the bird mirrrored by the water is really fantastic. I have to ask..."how long do you spend framing and composing your picture before you snap it? I am new to this and I'm beginning to pay attention to details before I shoot now..but I've been shooting objects....but I can see this being difficult in the animal kingdom. Anyway, as usual, these are awesome pictures. Thanks for the lesson in humility...

Thanks James... I really try to be creative with the camera and lense.. rather than with editing software.. .. I do spend a lot of time thinking about what I want you to see.. then I will take a lot of shots ... 75 to 100 just to come up with 5 or 10 worth keeping... regardless of the subject matter.. I know what I want before I take the picture...

Like the reflection of the egrets, but there is something about the 'again' of the pelican that draws my attention more.

Love your back yard! I only made it as far as Oceanside, told Brandon he has to bring me back sometime, I want to see your ocean & zoo...till then keep posting these are Wonderful!!
