Spent many a lunch time, evenings and weekends parked around, driving through and eating at theDairy Queen

Whether it was cruising town, racing down backroads, or gathered in someones pasture laughing and talking the local country station blasted from our speakers.

Summer Tuesday nights found us at "Dollar Night" at theBaker movie theater.

My best friend and I learned to work on cars, while pumping gas and changing tires atMain Street Mobile

A favorite place to swim and fish was from the old wood plankBoggy Creek bridge

thumb The Party bridge, a family name, not the event.

  • Oh my, you sure brought back some memories...today's drive in eateries just don't have the same feel as 'yesteryear'.the old Boggy Bridge looks sinister...almost afraid to be there it is so dark and emboding..guess that might have been the allure of it years ago...

Nice theme post. Sad to see the places of your memories abandoned. At least they live on in your heart. Good job :o)

Nice. nothing quite like a Texas dairy queen. The bridge is really kinda spooky, and the country western station was sad to see abandoned. Should we blame wal mart for this abandonment?

All great photos, Ash, I can picture you walking through those places as a youngster. Most of the buildings of my youth only exist in my memory. I still travel through my childhood streets and the buildings are all gone except for in my thoughts. Only Lady Wendy would remember the drive through White Castle, the Parsons Theatre, the old St Nicholas Church.
