Foggy Roadtrip and more HDR play!

Yesterday I got a last minute early morning call from the boy wanting me to watch Jaryd.  So we got an extra roadtrip this week.  It was real nice and foggy but with the late start the sun was already up pretty high.  Luckily the fog was pretty thick for awhile.
Glow.
Ghost tree.  B&w but not much color in the color version anyway.
Light in the forest.
Backlight.
Baclight-HDR This is an "over the top", in my opinion, HDR version of the previous shot.
Baclight -Mild This is more like the amount of effect I prefer.
The first backlight shot is pretty much straight from the camera and the last is closer to what I saw but I've been shooting a lot of shots with the auto bracketing turned on so I could play with them later using the HDR software.  It's very easy to get a gaudy, unnatural look with the adjustments in Photomatix which I think I did in the middle shot. Of course, others may prefer it.  While I prefer the more natural look it is fun to play with.
Comments and criticism, hopefully constructive, are welcome.  Except for those mentioned all other shots are not HDR.

very nice, they are all great, but I like glow the best lighting wise, and ghost tree is really something! great job!

"Glow" is a glow-reous shot, Don. I like it. I haven't done anything with HDR at this point but do like the effects. Having not been there - you didn't call - I will assume that "Baclight-Mild" is the better of the two HDRs.

    - Mmmmmm... Multiplicative

I agree... the HDR shot is a little unnatural looking, although the mild one is nice and did help the foreground. The colors in glow are beautiful. But I really like Light in the forest. The trees have just enough color, you can still see the fog in the background and the sunlight is striking.

Love 'glow', it's just plain wongerful. Second was the Mild HDR, it shows off the foreground nicely without adding too much color to the sun.
