Cemeteries have long been one of my favorite places to shoot. Not only does the history preserved there entice me but also the beautiful natural setting and the quiet that can be found there, despite the fact that I'm in the middle of the city.

The following shots are just a few among many that resulted from a few hours spent losing track of time in one of my favorite local graveyards.Allouez Cemetery

Broken Angel

Against the Light

Looking Down the Cross

(This one might qualify for the current angel..er..ANGLES challenge)

  • I think the last three qualify for the angles challenge. Love the angle you used in 'broken angel' and all have wonderful composition, lighting and exposure. Great job!

Nice shots, good angles. I like the cemetery shot... I think the road going up the center works in this shot because it's balanced with the tree in front and the building in back, and it takes your eye through the shot.

  • Nice shooting, good angles. For being in the middle of a city, it do look peaceful.

  • I also love old cemeteries, and these shots capture all the Victorian opulence that is missing in the present day variety. Very nice work.

I love old cemetaries too! I really like the angle of the broken angel. I like the first cross shot but would like to see it cropped so it wasn't so centered.
