For some of you the cold weather means a loss of things. For us in the milder climates your loss becomes our gain.  We get many birds wintering over around the Bay. Got to see and shoot some t'other day.

    Good shots! I'm always amazed everyone knows the names of the birds they shoot, if it waas me it would bird 1, 2 ect, course I'm lucky I know my own name!

    Yep thats the way I do it! Audubon books right by the computer, after a while you begin to remember some. The Avocet is a beautiful shore bird, all are fantastic captures!

    Nice shots, all of them (including the thumb, which I think is my favorite). Might try a closer crop or some spot editing on the duck, the lens spots are a little distracting.
