In Search of Inner Peace

I rarely experience inner peace, but it seems I'm always in search of it. Inner peace to me means being at peace with oneself, the past, the present and the uncertainty of what lies ahead. I'm not there yet, but hopefully one day I will be. A lot of people lead such busy lives there's not a moment's peace in the day, no time to think or feel, to really make use of the five senses. I feel the closest to inner peace when I'm out in the country, alone or with my dog. The wide open space, the elements, the sky, the stillness, the solitude. It is also where I feel the closest to being me, or what I can be if I just keep trying. I treasure those moments and hope to someday make a home there.
 
This shot is a re-post from summer. It speaks of both inner peace and freedom to me.
Anywhere but Here

These were taken a few weeks after my school trip to the castlegrounds. The leaves were all gone by then. I apologize for the poor quality.

    Charlie you said it so well. I really like the first one even though it is grainy. All of them are really well done. They are peaceful. I could see Sadie running up ahead of me like Ben is in the shot... ;0)

    going..gone have got some beautiful colors in them and I like your handsome dog. Its really special when one can connect so closely to another animal...sometimes I think Bella can read my mind.

    Sniff for me! Our dogs love the woods, the older one doesn't go to far anymore but he stands behind the Jeep until we take him!

    Beautiful dog and beautiful places. I can appreciate your love of the open areas where there are few distractions. The thumb is beautiful, too. Why not post it? Or did I miss it earlier?

    Great post, Charlie, Anywhere but here and Sniffing the wind are tremendous photos. Like the grain in Anywhere but here and the contrast in Sniffing. Inner peace is a decision you make.

    Thank you. "Anywhere but Here" and "Sniffing the Wind" were both shot with film. kaloleO, I didn't think the quality in the thumb was good enough. The swans were quite a distance away and it's a little soft.
