The San Jacento Monument commemorates the battle led by Sam Houston that reversed the losses suffered at Goliad and the Alamo.  Santa Ana's defeat and capture eventually led to Texas independence.

    I have been there many years ago ...thanks for the reminder,the b&w works really well..Texans suffered some brutal defeats before a few lucky brakes changed the outcome of the war and handed us victory and independance.It is a fasinating story...d

    Brings back many memories, like history classes in Texas grade school, and superb dining at the San Jacinto Inn, at one time 5 stars and then some. Don't Mess With Texas!
