The San Jacento Monument commemorates the battle led by Sam Houston that reversed the losses suffered at Goliad and the Alamo.  Santa Ana's defeat and capture eventually led to Texas independence.

The first "San Jacento Monument" for me, Bill. Gorgeous! IMO the color doesn't make it in this set.

Brings back many memories, like history classes in Texas grade school, and superb dining at the San Jacinto Inn, at one time 5 stars and then some. Don't Mess With Texas!

  • Great post Bill! I'm going to have to visit the next time I'm in Texas to see my brother. The 3rd shot was my favorite of the set.
