Up a Lazy River
Words & Music by Hoagy Carmichael & Sidney Arodin, 1931

Up a lazy river by The Old Mill Run
That lazy, Lazy River in the Noon Day Sun
Linger in the Shade of a kind old tree
Throw, away your troubles, Dream a Dream With Me
Up a lazy river where Where the Robin's Song
Awaits a brand new mornin as we just roll along
Blue Skies Up Above, Everyone's in Love
Up a lazy river, How Happy We Can Be
Up a Lazy River With Me

Yeah, I considered all B&Ws, Paul. But I thought a robin in B&W and a blue sky in B&W just didn't cut it in what I was trying to do. And the lovebugs....well.... Yep, I love Hoagy, too, smalls. BTW: Thanks, Paul. "Linger in the Shade = Self portrait.

  • Beautiful pictures and a great song with it! You know, I actually debated about doing a challenge similar to this. Using song lyrics (or poems) to help inspire your pictures... kinda makes me wish I had done it now.

  • I have always loved this song, and your photos illustrated it perfectly. "Linger" is my pick of the litter, but I'd be happy with any of your puppies.
