Dispose of As Soon As Possible

By jojames1 written 6/26/07 5:24 PM, published 6/27/07 11:41 AM

Like wilk, I took into consideration the limitations of the camera.  I opted for a 400 speed Polariod.  (The hemmorhoid of the photography world.)

I opted to control only the time of day.  When is the light really good?  At sun-up and sun-down.  Here's the only decent shots I would bother to show.

On the first shot and the cars I gently tweaked the dark level.  The cat I tweaked normal...the last two are as is.

To Be Disposed Of

All I can say is thank God for the storm clouds.

Not bad at all! I think you all are really proving that, if you make adjustments for the camera's basic limitations, you can get decent images. Fun experiment! At least it was for me--I've been watching you guys take crappy photos!!!

Smalls is right...not bad at all. Cats are shady anyway.

I'm getting mine put on CD tomorrow..these aren't tooooooooooooo bad..the color seems dull and of course focus is soft...better than mine will be by a mile.

As soon as I quit laughing over the title of your post, I looked at the slideshow, and you know, these really aren't bad, considering what you had to work with. THey remind me of the quality of drugstore prints back in the early seventies....we are just soo spoiled by our wonderful digital SLR's and Photoshop and all other sorts of sharpening and contrast-fixing and color-balancing post production tools that we forget :-) Mine are due to be picked up at Walgreens tomorrow after work. I am dreading it....but I also know they will probably be a whole lot better that the first 50 or so rolls of film I ran thru my first SLR (a totally manual Nikon FE with a 50mm lens and no auto anything). ...I am gonna get down off my soapbox now and go play with my D200 and be quietly grateful...:)

    - f8 and be there...

Not bad, not bad at all. And once you 'tweek' the levels, even better.

You did good! Really like "Better Afternoon".

  • bugaboo
You did great! Better afternoon is my pick also.

  • RobinG
Good job on all of the ones you showed. Are you going to show the bad? Better afternoon is my pick of the bunch. Thanks for taking part in the challenge. :o)

Not bad, not bad. Good choice of subjects given the limitations of the camera. I should have done more landscapes with mine, but Alabama is pretty much brown right now because of the drought.
