Challenge Entry

I am an artist!

The past few days I've been moving a lot of my stuff into our attached garage.  No, Barb's not kicking me out.  We converted it into an apartment and added a bath.  Jaryd's mom and dad lived there for a few months while he was between jobs and she finished school.  I also had a darkroom in there which they converted to a kitchen.  Anyway, now it's going to be a studio.  I'm going to move all my art supplies out there and also my lighting equipment.  Since I'll probably be spending most of my time out there, technically, I guess Barb did kick me out.  I'll have all my photo gear, except cameras, art stuff, and hobby stuff in one place with plenty of room.  Only need a beer fridge and it'll be a Man Cave, albeit, with all the art stuff and no TV maybe a "Sensitive" Man Cave!
Since I've been hauling the stuff anyway I thought I'd setup a tools challenge shot.

Some Artist's Tools.
Reflection in a Palette Knife. I liked this reflection as I was setting it up so I closed in.

I know it may be presumptious to call myself an artist (especially lately) but that's what I went to school for, until circumstances forced me in another direction.  But when I retired as an electrician I told everyone that from now on whenever anyone asked what I did, I was going to tell them "I'm an artist".  They usually think it's a joke and sometimes, on a bad day, I do too but I can't quit doing it and I know in my heart... I am an artist!  And since Barb and I have been on this diet...a freakin' starving artist!

The reflections is really neat. Love those tools, so crisp and colorful set against the black backdrop. They just pop and I see the reflection in that shot too. Nice.

Love the reflection shot, it's like an abstract waiting to be put on a cavas. And the tools are lovely.

Photonut, no I was not a union electrician, I was what they called, in the area, an industrial electrician. We did electrical work on everything in our plants up to about 1 inch conduit and also did all the electronic work on drives, instruments, controls, etc. We also did almost all the hydraulic and pneumatic work in the plants. We were a combination of electrician, electronic tech, and instrument tech. We also employed union workers and some had worked there longer than me (25 years). We never ever had any problems between the two groups.
