Since on of the purposes of this site is to critique each others photos, not necessarily to just see pretty pictures, I offer this comment; You did a great job in handling what could be difficult lighting problems. The sky through the lights is not burned out, the highlights of the woodwork in both shots is great and the photos fit the titles for them. I like the B&W. I swear, you guys are going to convert me from color!
Thanks so much, Old Guy! I appreciate the comments. I have to say that the camera did most of the work. I was only thinking of composition. Digital point-and-shoot technology keeps geting better and better, don't you think?
Yes I do. I may just go out and find one for those days when I leave the cannon home. But my wife almost didn't talk to me when I got the cannon and the 70-300 is lens for it. Phew. Sometimes I think mine is too complicated. I have friends that use a kodak point and shoot with great results.
