I like the slight too darkness of these it gives them an old timey feel, especially the last. The last has a softness to the foreground, and the almost blown clouds make it all seem like forgotten photo just found! The last is my fav but the other two are excellant to.All are well composed. Just for curiosity sake would like to see what you started with.

    - Say...CHEESE

i agree with AShton and would love to see what you started with.. the last one is my favorite, a surreal effect... or like looking back in time.. with the blk&wht effect..

    - Smile ; )

  • muddy
I enjoyed them all but family time is my choice because of small people compared to the huge ocean and sky. Nice experiment.

  • andreaeagle
I love these! The 2nd is my fav. I, too, am curious...I think in color or in B&W the 2nd image is extraordinary!

    - come over for lunch

  • Lidljo
I agree with Andrea that the 2nd is my favorite - I love the sky in it. I also found the picture rather dark and wondered what they looked like from the beginning.

    - Flowers are happiness...

When I go to the ocean... I'm either in the surf or walking the beach, and "playing" draws me to the right, I want to walk that beach! :) But all of them are calling me... to make reservations for this summer! Lovely capture of the elements and good rework of the pictures in PS, works for me anyway.

    - go take some pictures you

  • Candice
These are so mysterious...I love the mood you've created!

  • Penny
I really love the dark moody feel of these!

Big Sky, and huge drama.....Reminds me of an old time Religious post card I own, with a huge rock, and a women in white swaddling garment, clinging to a cross..... Is this the Atlantic? Very inspirational, and i'm not religious

  • bleustudios
Thanks everyone!... Cooker...these shots were taken in Miami Beach.... I work in raw initially, but I will try and post color versions with basic processing (reduced size...a little sharpening etc...so that you can see what I started with) in the next couple of days.

  • RobinG
    Great shots! Can't choose a fav. :o)

  • bugaboo
Love the depth and mood in these, although a bit dark in a large format I bet the details would be exceptional!

  • cokids
They all are wonderful! Did you desaturate or play with Channel Mixer? Looks like channel mixer, but not sure. Beth

    - All Eyes and Ears!!

  • bleustudios
Thanks beth...actually it's done with selecting specific areas using either the magic wand or using the rectangular marqee tool, then adj levels....but the saturation is done with duplicate layers (after adding the duplicate layer it is usually even more dark). I use the channel mixer at times, but with these 3 shots I mainly just used levels. I start off in lightroom in raw format...let me know if you want more details...it was kind of involved....I experimented quite a bit :)

  • kalole0
Thank you for the details. Altho more than I'm doing with Elements, it shows just how effective post-processing can be when done right. I enjoyed these.

    - togetherness.....

  • BEARPHOTO
Great play and the dark adds drama and nostalgic mystique. The last is so excellent.

  • bullshoalsview
You did great! Boardwalk has a lomo feel.... very nice!
