I went out for a short time yesterday and walked a half mile circuit, and finally managed to capture an winter blue. He was down in a feeder stream surrounded by undergrowth. I hope it warms soon, he looks Cold and hungry
The thumb is almost another goal I have set, to capture a shot of a cardinal in a winter pine tree. He flew away before I got close enough.

    You are brave, bugaboo. brrr... I also want to catch a red bird as we have pairs of them all around here. But not this time of year...and I am in the South. I am sure you have caught them in the warm weather... Maybe this one was slightly slow at the uptake...anyways, I love the shot of the other bird for it's colors and authenticity.
